You are invited to a communty forum to
provide input on a comprehensive infrastructure plan for Iowa's future
economy. The discussion will focus on discussing Iowa's infrastructure
in the following sectors:
- Buildings and
vertical infrastructure
- Energy
- Natural Resources
- Telecommunications
- Transportation
The forum will be at the Coralville Public Library, 1401
Fifth Street in Coralville on February
4, 2010, from 9:30--noon.
Direct questions about the forum to Arlinda
McKeen from the State Public Policy Group, the organization that is
facilitating this planning process.
Your input will help shape the direction that our state moves in
the aforementioned sectors.
FY2011 Budget Process
The budget public hearing will take place
at the Council's formal meeting on Tuesday, February 16, with the vote
on the budget scheduled for the Council's meeting on March 2. The City
budget is very much like the weather, everyone complains about it
(usually after we adopt it), but nobody does anything about it.
Love it, hate it, question it--attend the budget public hearing and let
the council know your opinion.
Board
and Commission Openings
Serving on a City board or commission
provides a wonderful opportunity for you to influence how our community
looks and operates. There are many volunteer opportunities in our
community and recently, we've faced challenges in filling vacancies on
our boards and commissions. If you--or someone you know--is
interested in greater participation in Iowa City government, consider
participating on a board or commission.
